Chosen music video genre
During the holidays my group and I have been discussing the Genre we want our music video to be. After a lot of thought we have decided that we want to make an 'indie' music video. This is mainly because we all thought that 'indie' was a very fascinating and intriguing genre of music. We also chose it because after researching about it we found it was mostly dominated by male artists and so thought it would be interesting to take the 'indie' genre into our own hands and make a female indie music video. At the moment though we are not sure what sub-genre in 'indie' music that we want to choose.
WHAT IS INDIE?
'Indie' is an abbreviated word of 'Independent music' and is the term used for music that is produced independently from high commercial record labels or their subsidiaries. A few examples of 'indie' artists are Kathryn Calder, Montaigne, Lana Del Rey and Tegan and Sara. Below are examples of some of the indie artists music.

My group and I have been trying to decide which music genre we want our music video to be. At the moment we have been drawn to the 'indie' music genre. This is because our whole group is very familiar with the genre of music and we all think it is a very interesting music genre. We are fairly confident that this is the music genre we want to use although we are still trying to work out which sub-genre in indie music we want to use.

R&B and Indie
At the moment my group and I are deciding between doing the 'indie' music genre or the 'R&B' music genre. We have decided to do one of these because we have all expressed our interests in these music genres. We also believe we will be able to make a better music video if we use one of these as we are all very familiar with these genres of music and the sort of videos that accompany the music and so we feel that we would have more ideas for the music video.
R&B music artists that we have been inspired by are Nichole Scherzinger, Jhené Aiko and the Weeknd and 'Indie' artists we have been inspired by are Tei Shi, Halsey and Lana Del Rey. Below are these artists work...
